How to Create a WH-347 From QuickBooks Payroll

Updated November 6, 2026. General information, not legal advice.

QuickBooks can track payroll and time, but a WH-347 needs both in one place, by day and by project. Here's how to bring them together.

File 1: the payroll report

In QuickBooks Online, the Payroll Details report shows each employee's earnings, withholdings and deductions. Export it to Excel, then use File, Save As, and choose CSV. Check that the date range covers just the week you're certifying. If the export adds extra total columns, you can untick them on the import screen.

File 2: daily hours

If you use QuickBooks Time, export a report showing hours by employee, day and job as a CSV. Any file with a worker name, a date and hours will work, including a simple spreadsheet with one column per weekday.

Put them together

  1. Open the app and enter your project details.
  2. Add both CSV files and pick the job.
  3. Check the matched workers, then review each line.
  4. Add classifications and any fringe credits, certify, and download.

Menus in QuickBooks change from time to time, so your report names may differ slightly. If a column isn't found automatically, you can pick it on the import screen.
